TRUST

“I will not pray clarity for you. Clarity is the crutch of the Christian. But I will pray trust for you, that your trust will increase”~Mother Teresa

When I initially read a quote, usually one of 2 things occur. Either something in the quote resonates with me and chew on it or it challenges me to seek truth/understanding. Quotes spark emotion in me because they encapsulate perspective and belief.

The above quote challenged me. I was pricked by the word “crutch”:

Source or means of support or assistance that is relied on heavily or excessively.

I have often prayed for clarity (for others and myself). So, a part of me felt rebuked by the quote and a part of me literally desired “clarity” from the Lord. It was interesting to observe the mix of emotions (it was kind of comical).

I finally closed my eyes and whispered “I trust You Lord”, and a Psalm came to mind.

I invite you to to meditate on the inspired word of God in Psalm 3:

“Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Don’t think for a moment that you know it all, for wisdom comes when you adore him with undivided devotion and avoid everything that’s wrong. Then you will find the healing refreshment your body and spirit long for. Glorify God with all your wealth, honoring him with your firstfruits, with every increase that comes to you. Then every dimension of your life will overflow with blessings from an uncontainable source of inner joy!”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-10‬ ‭TPT‬‬
